Google Drive backup through MCP
Read connection and run metadata, prepare an on-demand backup or disconnect, and leave Google consent to the person.
Use tools/list to check the exact schema and permissions for these registered backup operations.
| Tool | Permission and behaviour |
|---|---|
google_drive_status |
connections:read; owner or admin. Reads configuration, connection state, included and excluded data, and latest run metadata. |
google_drive_backups |
connections:read; owner or admin. Reads bounded run history, not the exported customer data. |
google_drive_connect |
connections:manage; owner or admin. Returns a Google consent link. The person completes sign-in and consent. |
google_drive_backup_now |
Fresh explicit backups:manage; owner or admin. Prepares an exact human review before requesting an export to Drive. |
google_drive_disconnect |
connections:manage; owner or admin. Prepares an exact human review before disconnecting. Existing copies remain in Drive. |
These operations use direct handlers; reading status or history does not start another Adapt agent to reason. An on-demand backup is an external data transfer. Review what it includes, including private notes and tasks, archived records, files, eligible email data and readable held or bank details, before approving. MCP returns run metadata, not backup file bytes or secrets.
Opening a review link alone does not approve it. After the person approves, fetch the action result and then the backup run metadata. A queued or running copy is not proof of successful delivery. The reviewed categories and limits are fixed for the request; the data itself is read when the backup runs. Ongoing edits can appear in the copy.
The new backups:manage permission is granted through fresh adapt:manage consent or explicit selection when creating a new key. Existing keys and OAuth credentials, including refreshes, retain their exact previous grants. Account roles still apply even when a credential has the scope.
There is no customer backup schedule operation or Drive restore operation. The nightly time is fixed. CRM restore points and workflow recovery are different operations; do not substitute them for restoring a Drive export.
