Google Drive backups
Keep a copy of your organisation’s supported data in its own Google Drive and check each backup’s result.
An owner or admin can connect Google Drive from Settings, then Backup. Adapt uses the organisation's connection to save supported data into Adapt Leads backups in the chosen Drive.
The backup can contain private notes and tasks, archived records, files and email data. Bank details and other held values can be readable in the export, even when they are held in the app. Choose a company-controlled Google account and check who can access that Drive before connecting.
What is included
Read What is in a backup for the current release's list. The backup includes:
| Included | What to expect |
|---|---|
| CRM | Set-up, records including archived and removed records, notes and tasks including private ones, timeline, change log, workflows and dashboards. |
| Files | Supported attached documents and pictures, plus their lists and metadata. Check the manifest for files that could not be copied. |
| Account work | Supported lists, saved searches, campaigns, LinkedIn posts and drafts, activity and recorded results. |
| Context and settings | Brand, account settings, Vela chats, agent settings and notifications. Connection details exclude passwords and access keys. |
| Held details | Bank details and other held values are exported as readable data. Protect access to the Drive and any downloaded copies. |
| Email outreach | Eligible Adapt Outreach campaign, mailbox, sent-message and reply data, where available to the backup. |
People erased following a privacy request stay erased. Passwords, logins and access keys are excluded. A limit, unavailable source or file that could not be read can leave omissions. Check the run and manifest rather than assuming every item was copied.
The folder contains data files and a README. Read the backup's own manifest for what was saved and any collection limit. Data is read while the backup runs, so ongoing edits can appear at different points in the copy. A row count alone does not prove the copy is complete.
Timing and retention
The automatic job uses a fixed nightly time. There is no customer control for choosing its schedule. A successful recent backup can cause that night's automatic job to skip a duplicate. Use Back up now for an on-demand request and check its recorded result.
Adapt keeps the newest 14 completed backups in its folder and moves older ones to the Drive bin. It does not empty the bin. Save a separate copy yourself if you need to keep one beyond that rotation.
Disconnecting stops future copies from this connection. Files already copied remain in Drive. Remove access through the app or your Google account if needed.
Backup and restore are different
A Drive copy is not a one-click import or full-account restore. There is no customer Drive restore control or restore API. CRM restore points and workflow versions are separate recovery tools; they do not prove a Drive export can be loaded back into Adapt.
