Google Drive backup needs attention

Check permissions, connection state and the saved run before trying again.

Open Settings, then Backup, and read the connection and run details.

Message or state What to do
Only an owner or admin can set up backups Ask an owner or admin to open Backup. This restriction also applies to history and on-demand copies.
Backups are not available right now The service is not configured for use. Do not assume an automatic copy exists.
Connect Google Drive again Complete a fresh Google consent flow. Earlier Drive copies remain.
You chose not to allow it Start again when ready and review the requested Google access.
The Drive box was unticked Start again and allow the required file access if you want a backup connection.
That took too long or link used already Begin a new connection from Backup.
A backup is already running Inspect the current run instead of starting duplicates.
Backing up The request is active. Wait for its recorded result and check the files afterwards.
Failed Read the reason and inspect the existing files before retrying. Earlier backups are separate.
Empty Read the run and manifest. Do not report it as a full data copy.
Completion is uncertain Check the existing run and connection result before retrying. Do not assume another request is safe.

A missing new nightly run does not prove failure: the automatic job skips an organisation with a successful recent backup. The customer cannot change this schedule. If there is no recent successful copy, use Back up now and check the result, or contact support with the run time and failure message.

Private notes, archived records, supported files and eligible email data can be in the organisation's backup. Held and bank details can be readable in that copy. Check its manifest and Google Drive backups for omissions and limits.

If your sign-in expires, sign in again before checking or changing the connection. A visible account name does not prove the current session is authorised.

Drive backups cannot currently be imported through a customer restore control. For a workflow or CRM restore point, use that feature's own preview and checks.
