Agent allowances and paid work
Reading saved work, running an agent and approving a paid action have separate limits.
Agent work is bounded by account settings and the requested operation's allowance. Do not treat every request as free or unlimited.
| Use | What to check |
|---|---|
| Read saved jobs, drafts or results | Reads existing work without starting another agent to think about it. |
| Request an agent run | Uses available AI allowance, daily limits, quiet hours and role switches. |
| Generate new writing | Can use AI work even when the result remains a draft. |
| Reveal or export | Normal credit or export allowance applies when the approved operation runs. |
| External research | Where available, research and spending controls bound the request. |
An owner or admin can open Agents, then Settings, and edit Your limits. Set maximum runs and cards per day, quiet hours and enabled roles. Wider platform limits also apply.
When a limit is reached, work can wait rather than continue spending. Read the job state. Repeating a request does not remove its limits.
External assistants
MCP offers direct reads and ordinary permitted changes, plus explicit agent requests. An assistant can read saved results without another Adapt agent repeating them. New writing, research or multi-step agent work can still use resources inside Adapt as well as in the external assistant.
See MCP tool groups and capability discovery, Credits and exports: what costs what and Set your agents' business context and limits. Check the live account and operation for current allowances rather than an old plan table.
