Vela agents for Adapt Workflows
Describe a workflow to Vela. It saves a draft rule, has the Search agent research and score each lead from the UK book, and drafts a message for your approval.
What Vela agents do for Adapt Workflows
Vela turns an instruction into a draft CRM workflow. The workflow can research a linked UK business, score it against your criteria, assign it to someone and prepare an outreach message for review. It never sends the message automatically.
Before you start
Make sure the CRM record is linked to a business in Adapt's UK book. Save your ideal customer profile if you want scoring to use it. Add the Fit score and Fit reasons fields to the relevant record view, and check that the person you want to assign leads to is available in your workspace.
Create and test a workflow
- Open Ask and describe the result you want, or open Workflows and use Describe the workflow.
- Specify the trigger, the businesses to check, the minimum fit score and who should receive qualified leads. For example: “When a new Bristol dental practice arrives, score it and assign leads above 69 to Priya.”
- Vela prepares a draft using your workspace's fields, people and stages. Read the steps and check any assumptions or parts it couldn't build.
- Confirm the research step is using the linked business record. It reads company details, reasons to reach out and recent events, but not contact details.
- Check the scoring step and the minimum score. If you have no saved ideal customer profile, the score is based on reasons to reach out alone.
- Add the assignment and message-drafting steps. Drafting an email or LinkedIn message uses credits; the research step doesn't.
- Select Try it to check the workflow without changing records or using credits. Review the result and correct any setup problems.
- Activate the workflow only when you're satisfied. The background worker processes its steps and reports failures instead of silently continuing.
Understand the score
A score is out of 100. Adapt uses the same scoring as its feed and lead lists. A business outside your saved ideal customer profile scores 0. For a matching business, recent relevant events can increase the score. The Fit reasons field explains the result. For example, a score of 82 may qualify against a threshold above 69. The number and reasons depend on the actual record.
Review a drafted message
Open the approvals inbox to inspect the email or LinkedIn draft. Check the business facts, recipient and wording before taking further action. You can edit the draft or leave it awaiting review. Approval does not cause the workflow to send a message. Sending remains a separate action outside the workflow.
Writing a message uses your AI allowance. See Agent allowances and paid work.
Current limits
Research only works when the CRM record is linked to a business in Adapt's UK book. It doesn't search the web. Workflows can continue conditionally above a threshold, but don't yet support if/otherwise branches or form steps. A step that cannot finish within 24 hours stops with a reason. Records are archived rather than deleted.
Troubleshooting
Record not linked: Link the CRM record to the correct UK business record, then retry the research step. The workflow won't guess which business you meant.
Unexpected score: Check the saved ideal customer profile and Fit reasons. A business outside the profile scores 0. Without a profile, scoring relies on reasons to reach out.
No message in approvals: Check that the lead passed the score threshold, the draft step is present and the run completed. Read any failure reason shown by the workflow before trying again.
