How this help centre is organised

Eight topics, and every one of them is written as a set of full articles rather than one-line definitions, because the questions people actually send us are rarely one-line questions.

The eight topic pages above run roughly in the order you meet them. Getting started and searching and filtering cover the first hour, and, between them, they answer most of what a new account needs. Quality grades and verification is the one worth reading before you spend an export, because it explains what we checked and when we checked it, so that you can judge a record rather than take a star rating on trust.

After that the topics split by job. Exporting and lists covers the export meter and what lands in the CSV, and billing and plans covers what counts against your allowance and how to change or cancel a plan. Data and compliance is written for the person who has to sign off on using the data, so it deals with lawful basis and B2B marketing rules rather than with buttons. Account and security and troubleshooting are where you go when something is wrong.

If you already know the words for what you want, the search box at the top of this page is faster than browsing, because it filters both the topic cards and the popular article list as you type. If you do not know the words for it yet, browse the cards instead, since they are grouped by the job you are doing rather than by the feature name we happen to use.

New here? Do these four things first

Roughly twenty minutes, and it saves most of the questions people write in with during their first week.

Search before you buy anything

Search is free and unlimited on every plan, including the free one, so run your real sector and your real postcodes before you spend a penny. If the coverage is not there, you will know inside five minutes rather than after a month of billing.

Learn what a grade means

A grade is a statement about what we hold and when we last checked it, and it is not a guess at how good a prospect is. Reading grades and verification once changes how you filter, and it usually cuts the size of your list and raises the reply rate.

Understand the meter

Only exports count against your allowance. Searching, filtering and opening a record are all free, and re-exporting a record you already took this month is free as well, so the meter only moves when something new leaves the platform.

Save the search, not the file

A saved search re-runs against the book as it updates, whereas a CSV is a photograph of one afternoon. Save the search that found your good customers, and you can come back to it next quarter instead of rebuilding the filters from memory.

Questions we get most

If yours is not here, the topic pages above go into far more detail, and the team answers anything they do not cover.

How much does AdaptLeads cost?

Plans are £99, £249 and £499 a month, and there is a free plan with no card required. Every plan includes unlimited search and filtering, so what you are paying for is the number of verified contacts you export each month rather than the right to look. The pricing page sets out what each plan includes.

What does a verified email mean?

It means we checked the address against the receiving mail server rather than guessing at a pattern, and it passed. That check has a date attached to it, which is why a record shows when it was last verified. Addresses that answer ambiguously are marked differently instead of being sold as verified, and the full explanation is here.

Do you charge per lead?

No. There is no per-lead charge and no credit to spend, because charging per record makes people ration their own prospecting and second-guess every reveal. You pay a flat monthly price, and your plan sets how many contacts you can export in a month.

How current is the data?

The book is refreshed continuously rather than in one annual rebuild, so different records were last checked on different dates. That date travels with the record, which is the honest way to answer the question, since a single freshness claim across 2.2 million businesses would not be true of them all.

How do I remove my data?

Use the data removal page. Give us the business name and either an email address or a web domain, and we will remove the record and suppress it so that a later refresh cannot bring it back. You do not need an account with us to ask, and there is no charge.

What actually counts against my export allowance?

Only a new contact leaving the platform. Searching, filtering, sorting and opening a record are unlimited and free on every plan, and re-exporting a record you already exported in the same calendar month does not count twice. The meter is explained in full here.

Can I try it without giving you a card?

Yes. The free plan asks for no card at all and gives you 50 exports a month on top of unlimited search, so you can test coverage in your own sector and export a real sample before you decide. Nothing upgrades automatically, and you will not be charged unless you choose a paid plan yourself.

Where does the data come from?

Public UK business registries, Companies House and licensed business data, unified and re-verified by our own enrichment engine. We do not publish a vendor list, but we will always tell you what we hold on a given record and when we last checked it if you ask.

Can I use this for cold email under UK GDPR and PECR?

B2B marketing to corporate subscribers is permitted under PECR, but the responsibility for how you use a list sits with you as the sender, not with us as the source. Data and compliance covers lawful basis, what we do about removals, and what you need to have in place before you send.

A record looks wrong. What should I do?

Tell us, and include the business name and what is wrong with it. The same record is served to every customer, so one report corrects it for everybody rather than only for you, and we will not charge you for an export that turned out to be wrong.

What happens to my lists if I cancel?

Cancelling stops the billing and it does not delete anything. Your saved lists and saved searches stay on the account, and search stays available on the free plan, so you can come back later and pick up where you left off instead of rebuilding your filters.

How fast does support reply?

Within one business day, and often the same day if you write on a weekday morning. A small UK team reads every message, so the reply usually contains the fix rather than a request for more detail, and you can help that along by including the email address on your account.
