AdaptLeads is only as sharp as the filters you point at it. Here's how to search 3.4 million UK businesses by sector, location, quality and contact details — and save the searches you'll run again.
You can combine any of these to build a focused list:
The live result count updates as you add or remove filters, so you always know how big your list is before you export a single contact.
To build a local list, filter by location. You can narrow to a specific postcode, a town, or a wider region, and combine that with a sector filter — for example, accountants in LS1, or estate agents across Greater Manchester. Location plus sector is the fastest route to a clean, targeted list.
Pick a sector to focus your search. Broad sectors like retail or hospitality return large lists you'll want to narrow with location and quality; niche sectors are naturally smaller. If a sector looks thin, widen the location or lower the minimum quality grade — see troubleshooting.
Set a minimum quality grade to control how complete and verified your results are. Filtering to 4★ and above, for instance, focuses on records with strong company and contact confirmation. For exactly what each star means, see quality grades & verification.
Use the contact-availability filter to show only records you can actually reach — those with a verified, deliverable email, a direct phone, or both. For outbound this is the single most useful filter: it strips out records where there's nothing to contact.
To reach a person rather than a generic inbox, filter to records that include a named director. We hold over 600,000 named directors sourced from Companies House, so many limited companies show a real decision-maker you can address by name.
When you've built a search you'll want again, save it. Saved searches re-run your exact filter set in one click, so you never rebuild it. You can also save individual businesses to lists to organise prospects. Both are available on every plan — see exporting, lists & outreach.
